  • Maintain minimum balance to avoid charges — or use zero-balance account (BSNL, Jan Dhan, many private banks now)
  • UPI: Link primary savings account for payments. Keep separate current account for business if self-employed
  • Set up SMS + email alerts for all transactions above ₹1,000 (banks allow this in notification settings)
  • Locker: Use for important documents and jewellery. Annual charge ₹1,000–5,000 depending on size/bank
  • FD vs Liquid MF: FD gives fixed 6.5–7%. Liquid MF gives similar but fully flexible (same-day redemption)
  • NEFT/IMPS/RTGS: IMPS = instant (< ₹2L, 24x7). NEFT = batched (any amount). RTGS = same day (> ₹2L, banking hours)
